B2: Technology Integration:

Educational technology is a resource used to enhance learning with individuals. Educational technology is known to help teachers streamline routines tasks and improve assessments and data collection. Strategy A: Preparing Students for State Tests explains how Mr. Ng's used computer-based programs such as drills, tutorials, simulations, and problem-solving activities that the students could access in their classrooms to prepare the students for assessments and testing. Strategy B: Simulated Family Project Mrs. Rodriguez implemented a "wage earner" spreadsheet to help her students learn about "making ends meet" In the classroom, technology could be effective for pedagogical change, as students use technology to take a more active role in designing their own education, and teachers serve as facilitators of knowledge rather than the transmitters. Technology also has the potential to transform learning outside of the classroom.

2. The technology pedagogical knowledge approach is beneficial for my students. I work with students with Intellectual disabilities. I like how this approach uses technology support for general teaching and learning activities. We use Kahoot a lot in between and after lessons. Kahoot is a great way to keep the students engaged cause it focuses on social learning. Most of my students I.E.P. goals are working on social skills. Also, Kahoot is a fun way for them to use their personal electronic devices as well. We also, use "Freckles" in math. Freckles addresses standard-based skills and concepts in core subject areas. Freckles are FREE!! We like FREE. ( Lol.....)  the program is a great way for me to have unlimited access to assignments, lessons, reports and targeted benchmark assessments.

Areas of Improvement:

I would like to learn about special versions of existing technologies or tools that provide enhancements or different ways of interacting with the technology. I believe the technology we use on a daily basis can be used differently to help the lives of disabled people.

I love and hate Kahoot. I am not fast enough to look up and then back at my computer. One thing I found is Quizizz.com. It is the same idea as Kahoot but the question and answer are on the student screen. You can also assign one as homework and the students can keep doing it for the practice. You can also turn off the timer so kids slow down and think instead of clicking to be quick.

It's great to see that you focus a lot on students' learning process and performance. Especially, how to use technology in a transformative way is critical! I have seen teachers and students love Kahoot (or some other fun apps) as assessment tools for student engagement. However, many have used those technology tools at the enhancement level instead of transformation level (think about the SAMR model). Would you like to share how teachers can integrate those technology tools in a more transformative way for student assessment?

Also, how can you use the TPACK model to identify your areas of improvement?

I think Kahoot has the gaming and audio components that make lots of students stay involved in the assessment. However, I found many times students could be too competitive with each other if the teacher did not facilitate appropriately. I agree with you that sometimes it is important for students to take time to think through those assessment questions to allow effective and meaningful learning.
